My series each year around Imbolc
The tree planting season in Ireland is from November until March, when tree plants are dormant. But, of course, most of that tree planting happens during March as the weather is usually more comfortable and daylight time is longer. Also Ireland’s Tree Week that also celebrates tree planting is happening from Sunday 3rd March until Sunday 10th March … and there’s currently some snow in the forecast then :-)
Anyway, I am eager to get started with this year’s Nature Folklore ‘Us And Trees’ series, and the first 2 or 3 editions of that should inspire any tree hugger.
Before then, a recap on the ‘Discovering The Sidhe’ series so far last year and this year, and I still have a lot more to share with you when I return to this series early Spring next year.

Starting with the beautiful myths of St. Gobnait and then exploring bee mythology and folklore somewhat through the spirits of the Sidhe
An investigation and discovery into the ‘Imbolc’ word
Looking into the healing folklore and myth stories of rivers, holy wells, loughs, and other sources of water
Sidhe legends within lost lands such as Atlantis, and Ys, the mysteries of sea tides, and water relationships to goddesses
Exploring the Changeling stories, and ways parents protected their children from this happening. I included the scaremongering tactics of priests, and some Bean Sidhe stories and folklore too.
I explored different types of fairy myths such as fairy lovers and love talkers, aislings, and sources of bardic and poets inspiration.
Some chat about ‘Awen’, different interpretations of Sidhe, fairy whisperers, thin places, and goddesses that seem to appear within Sidhe stories.
