Working with Blackthorn wood is similar to Apple wood.

For wood turners dry Blackthorn wood can seem too hard, too easily cracks. Green Blackthorn wood is easy to work with but can severely warp while drying, so maybe good clamping while drying is needed. Woodworkers who get used to Blackthorn make very fine hard wearing items.
