First, I will introduce how ancient language researcher, Damian McManus was unhappy with nGetal being reed, and how he re-translated this as ‘Broom’

McManus translates the shorter word ‘Gétal’ as describing an ‘act of wounding’ and he also points out an old Welsh word, ‘gwanu’ to stab, pierce, and open a wound.
